Certificate of Recovery from COVID19
If you have had a recent COVID19 infection, residue from the infection can be detected for as long as 6 months. This means a COVID19 test can continue to produce a positive result even though you no longer have an active infection.
Due to this, some countries are now accepting a doctor’s letter/certificate confirming recent recovery from COVID19 as sufficient to travel. The day you have tested positive is Day 0, and on Day 7 you will be eligible for an assessment. You can be assessed up to 6 months of a positive result. The time frame can vary depending on your destination’s requirement, i.e., some countries may want the assessment within 30 days, and some within 90 days, etc. To check your destination countries requirement please visit the UK GOV Foreign Travel Advice page.
In any case, an assessment cannot take place after 6 months of your positive result, and a new COVID19 test must be taken.
The assessment will involve some medical questions to ensure you have recovered from COVID19 and are no longer infectious. If you are still unwell, then it is likely you have not yet recovered, and you may need reassessment after a few days.
On assessment, if deemed recovered, our clinician can issue a letter of recovery from COVID19. The assessment can be done remotely and letters are emailed. This can be issued within the hour if required urgently; please call us on 02085502276 for urgent requests (preferably before 5:30pm). Please note that we are closed on Sundays, therefore letters that require a Sunday issue must be booked in advance.
It is essential to submit proof of your recent positive test. This can be a PDF or screenshot of your positive test result. The result must be a laboratory produced result and your full details included date and time of test must be clearly stated on the report. If you require your passport number on your letter/certificate (e.g., for travel purposes), please also provide your passport number. You can email your details to contact@olivehealthandtravel.co.uk.
Recovery letters are issued at your request. Although we will check the entry rules at the time of assessment and issue your letter within stated rules, any changes to rules thereon or refusal of entry cannot be compensated.
For fees please see our Pricing page.
